Over Due Update…

Yes I know I am really behind on my updates. On my last post I was very excited about an opportunity to write my own radio series. Unfortunately things did not work out as I had hoped. But all is not lost, I am taking the idea for that series and will be writing a new novel.

I don’t want to give too much away about it, but it is not a romance. I think it will have an option to become part of a series of books.

I am also planning to do more blogs about many different things. Such as product reviews or my favorite things type of reviews. More to come on that later.

For now I’m off to relax a little bit today, just helped plant potatoes, whew! Good thing I love to eat them.

Top Secret…

I’m super excited to be working on a script for SwampEdge Studios WQTK. I’m not saying much about it just now, but I have a feeling it is going to be a hit. Well I hope so anyway.

I’m so honored to be a part of the SwampEdge family. I hope to be not only a writer for them but help out and work in whatever area I can be the most useful.

The path to your future can take many twist and turns. Don’t sweat the ride, just enjoy the view along the way.

Five Days…

It has been five days since I had surgery. I had an atrophic left kidney, which was only functioning at 14% and was causing my blood pressure to be higher than normal. There were some other issues with the kidney, there was a kidney stone as well that I think was also causing me a great deal of pain. I am doing well, just very sore. I hope to see my blood pressure start to be lower.

My husband and sons have been taking very good care of me. Although they like to tease me for snoring. It seems I tend to doze off a lot. They keep me smiling and I don’t know how I would make it through this life without them.

I hope to get back to writing soon. But not today, I’m still working on just staying awake. I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.

Mother’s Day…

I had a wonderful Mother’s Day. My guys bought me a Kindle Fire with a very nice leather cover. They spoil me way too much. They made me a wonderful brunch. It was supposed to be breakfast in bed, but we all slept in and I moved from my bed to my recliner. You wouldn’t believe the wonderful work station my husband made for me so I can sit in comfort while keeping my laptop handy. Maybe I’ll post photos sometime of it.

I had plans on working on my new book today and submitting The Highland Wish to a few more agents. Unfortunately I’m not having such a good day. I think the stone in my kidney must have started moving around or something. I have been in more pain today. It started yesterday, the dull pain that I’ve been in for a while is no longer dull. Pain medicine helps, but leaves me in a state that prevents me from really working on anything.

I’ve not been sleeping well, nerves I guess, with my surgery this coming Friday I suppose it is normal to worry. The last time I had major surgery there were complications. I don’t think that will happen again, but I’m a worry wart anyway.

I will try again tomorrow to at least get submitted to some agents. I will also endeavor to update here as soon as I can after my surgery so you all know I’m doing well.

But until then I will not be lazy and read books on my new Kindle Fire or play Angry Birds, ok you know I’m fibbing now.

I hope all the Moms out there had as wonderful day as I did, even though I had to share my day with my husband, his birthday was yesterday. I didn’t mind, I was happy to do so.  He is a wonderful man.

Until next time, enjoy life and all that it brings.

The blank page…

Is there ever anything so daunting than that blank page? You know what you want your story to be, but just starting can cause heart palpitations.

I’m so happy to say I am now past that blank page and well into chapter one of my second novel. I’m really excited about it. The “voices” are all clamoring to have their story told.

I have been in editing mode for so long, that I’m having a few issues in just writing. I need to let the words flow from my mind through my finger tips, without worrying about what I write being correct. I must relax so my story can come out.

I was trying to make a daily post, but I’m finding that I don’t always have something to post about. I wanted to keep this blog mostly about writing. But since my journey is interwoven with more than just writing I may post about more things in my life. I will post at least once a week, maybe more.

Back to my book, I love this exciting feeling. On to chapter two and beyond.

I love my Kindle…

When I first heard about ebooks, I was so against them. I love the feel of a book in my hands as I cuddle up in my favorite chair. Ereaders were just so thin and cold.

So what changed my mind? Well, the ease in which I could get books was one of the major reasons. The way I made it work for me was I bought a leather cover to go around it, also there is a light that slides up out of the cover. I can read anywhere. My Kindle is the one with the keypad on the bottom. I don’t have the Kindle Fire, but I’m hoping maybe for Mother’s day. Hint, Hint. (if my hubby is reading this.)

Another thing I like about my Kindle is the ease that I can take my manuscript (once formatted correctly) and make it into an ebook, upload it to my Kindle. Now I can take it and read it like I would any other book. It makes rereading it looking for any typos much easier than looking at my laptop screen, or printing it out.

I do recommend ereaders, I like my Kindle, but I’ve not tried the Nook or others. Give them a try, you may find yourself reading more than you ever had before.
